Provides nursing services such as pregnancy testing and counseling, public health assessments for maternity clients, international travel vaccinations, tuberculosis screening and testing, adult and childhood immunizations to individuals, families, and targeted at-risk populations in the clinic setting. Provides appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment of clients following public health standards of care. Utilizes a variety of nursing skills to meet identified needs of clients in clinic setting.
Note: This is Non-merit G-Status temporary position that is authorized until the end of September 2018. Cannot exceed 900 hours per calendar year. Appointee is not eligible for benefits and does not earn paid leave or holiday pay.

Graduation from a college or university accredited by the National League for Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education with a bachelor's degree in nursing; plus one year of work experience in a public health/community health setting; or two years of full-time post-licensure experience as a nurse in an equivalent health care setting whose focus was primarily prevention services and community education.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:Possession of a current license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Selected positions or area(s) of assignment may require the incumbent to possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry, a driving record check, and a check with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) to the satisfaction of the employer. Position frequently communicates and must be able to exchange accurate information with others verbally and in writing.
Preferred candidates will have two years of post-licensure experience working as a registered nurse in a fast paced clinical setting. Experience working with diverse populations. Phlebotomy experience. Experience using a team approach for service delivery. Bilingual skills a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Employee is required to walk, stand, sit, bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs and carry equipment or young children up to 25 pounds in weight. Uses hands to grasp, handle or feel. Visual acuity is required to read data on a computer monitor. Ability to operate keyboard driven equipment. Ability to drive a vehicle. Position frequently communicates and must be able to exchange accurate information with others verbally and in writing. All duties perform with or without reasonable accommodations.
