Head Coach, Women's Rowing - Hoya Athletics

The Head Coach for Women's Rowing is responsible for the recruitment and retention, supervision, and coaching of NCAA Division I women's rowing student-athletes, under the guidelines of the Patriot League and the NCAA, and carries out duties within the stated philosophy of Georgetown athletics and its educational mission. The Head Coach has duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Adheres to all institutional, Patriot League, and NCAA regulations to ensure the University's compliance.
  • Makes the decisions required for successful achievement of department goals and objectives, and is accountable for the development of team policy and goals. 
  • Oversees and leads all practices and competitions, such as game preparation, practice planning, individual skills and video sessions, scouting, scheduling, weight training and fitness programs. 
  • Evaluates prospective student-athletes, and analyzes and determines their abilities and whether or not they may succeed athletically and academically at Georgetown. 
  • With the Academic Coordinator for Student-Athletes and the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations, monitors student-athlete academic performance and conduct, and identifies and addresses student-athlete welfare issues. 
  • Represents the University in donor/alumni public relations and community programs. 
  • Works with the Associate Athletics Director for Business and Finance to develop an annual budget for the women's rowing program and manages the program within departmental budgetary guidelines.


  • Bachelor's degree - Master's preferred
  • 3 years of experience related to duties and responsibilities specified - preferably at college or university at the NCAA Division I level, or equivalent combination of education and experience
