Dewberry Architects Inc. is seeking an energetic Student Architect Intern to join our Fairfax, VA office. Must be pursuing a professional degree, Bachelor of Architecture or Masters of Architecture from an accredited university. Candidate must be proficient in MS Office and demonstrate strong REVIT expertise.
This position works under close supervision of a Project Architect/Manager. Receives specific and detailed instructions regarding tasks. Performs work efforts in a timely and complete manner. Takes the initiative to either work out or research a work effort. Understands his/her capabilities and when to seek help from mentors. Has skills in performing renderings and other design functions. Has a strong understanding of CADD and other project design and graphic software. Qualified candidates should exhibit strong organizational, conceptual design, and good oral and written communication skills. Candidates should also possess a positive attitude, an outstanding work ethic and be team-oriented.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Pursuing a professional degree, Bachelor of Architecture or Masters of Architecture from an accredited University.
- Intern Development Program (IDP) process started beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience with REVIT, Photoshop and Microsoft Office.
- Digital and traditional rendering abilities and graphic experience a plus
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
- A portfolio or sampling of work will be required.
