A growing site development company located in southern Maryland, is seeking a reliable, motivated and experienced Pipe/Utility or Excavation Superintendent.

JOB SUMMARY: 
Experience and ability to lead crew in efficient and productive manner, knowledge of reading drawings, measuring & staking grades, pipe work, managing and training employees. Specialized utility and earthwork experience necessary for Pipe/Utility Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crews
  • Manage a variety of site development projects
  • Reading plans, measuring & staking grades, mathematical calculations
  • Pipe work (Pipe/Utility Superintendent)
  • Communicate with general superintendent regularly
  • Manage crews
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Maintain required paperwork
  • Perform daily safety audits
  • Routine maintenance of equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five+ years of experience as a Pipe/Utility Superintendent
  • Experience operating heavy grading equipment
  • Must be able to operate equipment when needed
  • Must be able to routinely maintain equipment
  • Must be able to take direction from a general superintendent and carry out plan
  • Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices
  • Must be reliable, responsible and professional
  • Must quickly adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized, able to manage a crew and maintain required paperwork
  • Three character references
