Purchasing of Sterile Processing, Storeroom supplies and non-stock supplies. Maintains Materials Management data base, follow up on backorders, resolution of order discrepancies and pricing issues, prepare paperwork for payment of rentals. Supports monthly closings. Supports conduct of annual physical inventory. Fields calls from vendors/requestors.

Responsibilities:
Orders requested medical supplies/equipment and services for Hospital Departments and Clinics.
  • Selection of vendors, pricing and other buying considerations.
  • Responsible for selecting and maintaining sources of supplies.
  • Use progressive purchasing techniques and methods to process all requests for purchase within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Run and evaluates Exception Report 2 - 3 times weekly to determine cause of discrepancies in unapproved invoices.
  • Actively works with the Accounts Payable Department to resolve discrepancies.

Education and Experience Requirement:
  • Two years as a Buyer is minimum experience required.
  • High School graduation (minimum) Two years college with curriculum including business courses (negotiating, contracting, accounting)
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills to deal effectively in a multi-dimensional environment.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
