Job Description:
Optima Health is seeking a experienced leader to join our organization and lead our team of versatile professionals to include: Team Coordinator, technical writers, analysts, assistants and media adviser, in our efforts spearhead industry leading communication strategies to highlight our health plan services and products that we provide within our market. This is a full time, benefited position located at our office in Virginia Beach, VA. Requires 10-20% of travel within the state of Virginia and must be flexible with availability.

Dir Communications is responsible for planning, development, implementation and management of Optima Health communication strategies. Provides oversight to ensure effective consistent education and member engagement as well as promote the plan in a consistent, high quality, high touch manner. Sets and guides the strategy for all communications including leveraging the CRM system to drive member engagement, print communications, development of strategic business proposals, social media engagement, and web content to consistently and effectively articulate the Optima Health mission. Ensures communication vehicles support the Optima Health strategic plan and position Optima Health as the trusted source, disseminator, and conduit of information within this diverse network and constituent base. Works closely with senior leadership as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives, including business development and continuous improvements to the customer experience. Accountable for the creation and management of a $4 million operational budget. Oversees negotiation/contracting of strategic pricing with vendors to ensure economies of scale and best pricing for print, alternatives to print communications, and promotional items.

Other
BA/BS Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or related field. 4 years of experience in healthcare required. 4 years of professional writing experience required. 3 years project management or management experience. Demonstrate ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Able to provide leadership and direction to a project to ensure that project deliverables meet chartered time lines. Exhibit knowledge of operational areas and marketing concepts of a health plan or integrated delivery system. Possess knowledge of and experience in budgeting, cost management and methods for improving operational efficiency. Demonstrate strategic thinking to ensure progressive departmental improvements;
