The first area of responsibility is to assess, improve and implement business process as the firm seeks to leverage its new CPM platform to support multiple functions within the finance organization. These include consolidated reporting, resource planning, budget planning and reforecasting, financial close management, account reconciliation and other financial reporting use cases. This person will be responsible for all processes directly impacting the platform as well as establishing strategic partnerships across the Enterprise Process and Operations Support team to coordinate with other platforms for cross-departmental initiatives. The role will regularly coordinate with principal stakeholders across the finance organization to gather business requirements, assess business processes, complete fit-gap analyses, design future state processes, manage system integrations, control data migration and help facilitate larger strategic firm goals. Communication with executive leadership will be expected. The role will also be responsible for project implementations of related initiatives (such as advanced planning modelling, account reconciliations, cash forecasting and additional financial reporting) as well as larger cross-platform initiatives. The role will be expected to identify opportunities for finance process reengineering, system support enhancements and enterprise data quality improvements. The second area of responsibility is to manage a team accountable for functional administration of the platform including maintenance, support and enhancement. Responsibilities will include development of processes to support the increased scope of our current CPM platform, including but not limited to, metadata management, rules and reports management, calculations management, user training and data analysis. The team will also be responsible for managing the platform backlog of support / enhancement activity, gathering / understanding / translating business requirements and regularly communicating statuses and progress to end-users and executive leadership. This is a process & systems role which requires an accounting/finance operations background, demonstrable process improvement skills, ability to facilitate through complex issues and strong communication/presentation skills. The role must be familiar with complex accounting and FP&A concepts and experience with publically traded, international, multi-currency and/or financial services is highly preferable. This hire will also be responsible for leading and developing at least one direct report as well as one to four consultants depending on the current initiatives. Additionally, they will be responsible for coordinating with the technical team within Carlyle's Global Technology Solutions group. Key Duties/ Responsibilities Strategic process and system improvement Connect with key user groups to identifying process and system solutions to enhance efficiency across the finance organization Coordinate with other senior members of the Enterprise Process and Operations Support department to represent FP&A, HR, Consolidations and other business operations as well as serving as a SME for Carlyle's CPM and related application solutions Identify opportunities for improvement and monitor portfolio of CPM related projects Lead key initiatives for CPM related projects Regularly evaluate and enhance procedures used to support functional areas Responsible for CPM and related system support team Responsible for leading the functional support team Provide strategic vision and expectation for support model Oversee key application management including system calculations, reports, data models, business rules and data analysis Maintain standards for service delivery and quality control Coordinate with technical support team Staff management and professional development. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in accounting, financial systems and process improvement for finance & accounting functions Minimum of 5 years of Corporate Performance Management (CPM) related experience with a global professional services firm or publically traded company in both financial reporting and budgeting/planning Experience in process re-engineering, designing and implementing finance applications including budgeting, forecasting, planning, consolidation, and reporting Experience with system governance, controls, process and procedures, change management, master data management, data standardization and stewardship, information integrity and compliance, and data quality management Experience with Hyperion HFM, Oracle EPM, OneStream XF or comparable CPM solution including metadata management, rules enhancement/development, report enhancement/development, data analysis/resolution Experience with Hyperion Planning, Anaplan, Host Analytics, Cognos or comparable budgeting/planning solution Bachelor's degree Additional Attributes: Ability to serve as a business lead and work with stakeholders across multiple business areas as well as provide leadership and development of direct reports Strong interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, communication and training skills Highly organized - able to perform tasks with a high level of attention to details Easily adaptable & analytical - must be able to process large volume of information and manage competing priorities Six Sigma, Lean or process improvement background desired Familiarity with the financial services industry a plus Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information CPA preferred Experience with PeopleSoft Financials 8.x or higher (9.x preferred) a plus SQL, VBA knowledge a plus Strong PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project and Visio skills
