Cognizant Business Consulting (CBC) is a pivotal part of Cognizant's overall growth strategy, both in terms of the development of our core consulting business and in developing wider mind share and market share with our global clients. Banking and Financial Services is the largest industry vertical in Cognizant, and the CBC practice within it (CBC BFS) is the largest component of our Consulting business with 1,300 consultants. Our CBC BFS business is built on the fundamental principles of deep and relevant domain expertise in our clients' markets and businesses, allied to an enviable track record for customer excellence. CBC BFS is already working extensively with top tier clients to enable them to meet their strategic imperatives in Payments, Retail and Wholesale Banking, Capital Markets, Governance Risk & Compliance, Wealth & Asset Management. The Consulting Principal will help us to build our consulting business further with our existing tier one BFS clients, who are already benefitting from a number of Cognizant solutions within Commercial Banking services and solutions. The Consulting Principal will also assist in opening out new relationships for our Commercial Banking business with new BFS clients. Specifically, the responsibilities of the Commercial Banking Consulting Principal are as follows: Build and expand the existing team of Commercial Banking consultants within our CBC BFS US team, to enhance our overall capabilities and brand Increase the level of Business Consulting at our top tier clients, in terms of Commercial Banking Consulting revenue and profit Enhance mindshare and market share and strengthen Cognizant relationships within the targeted organisations Work with Cognizant Client Account Partners and their teams to deliver that success Lead some of the CBC BFS teams engaged across various accounts and leverage the required skills from across the broader CBC organisation Play a leadership role within CBC BFS US Required Skills Experience in Commercial Banking domain and technology gained at either a consultancy or a financial institution A strong understanding of the Commercial Banking Industry, challenges and opportunities A strong understanding of the various functions of Commercial Banking A sound understanding of disruption in the industry due to new entrants like fintech Product Implementation understanding of leading Banking Solutions is desirable A good knowledge and understanding of business analysis techniques Excellent consulting and communication skills, including the ability to do strategic consulting work, target operating model work, business cases, roadmaps, etc. People management experience Business development track record General client-facing expectations: Strong results orientation with the ability to positively affect client outcomes A strong track record of successful consulting business development in Commercial Banking space Ability to influence decisions, approached through strong subject matter expertise, and appropriate positioning of relevant experience Establish thought leadership position with key stakeholders and long term relationships with key clients - resulting in trusted partner status and repeatable revenue streams Consulting Project Delivery leadership and oversight of multiple smaller consulting projects General internal expectations: The capability to operate at multiple levels of abstraction and detail - ensure quality of deliverables and inject creativity in proposals Continually contribute to practice-level solutions and influence a positive feedback loop with client-level implementations Ability to efficiently manage time and leverage a team - meeting deadlines without sacrificing the quality of the services Ability to leverage expertise within a matrixed organisation and within an integrated consulting firm Excellent leadership, organisational, decision making and team building skills to manage dispersed and matrixed teams.
