This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations professional to launch and lead the MicroStrategy Legal Operations function. Legal Operations is focused on championing the overall operational effectiveness of the Legal team. The successful candidate will expertly juggle the need to meet the day-to-day demands of operating a global team and the responsibility of developing and executing on longer term initiatives. Broad objectives include improving efficiency and productivity, identifying and implementing technology solutions to streamline and automate processes, promoting professional development, improving knowledge management, and enhancing communication and collaboration globally for the MicroStrategy Legal department. Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a roll-up-your-sleeves role that prizes initiative, problem solving and collaboration. Your Focus: Establish and lead Legal operations in a global enterprise software company Handle accruals, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of actual performance against budgets and forecasts Develop and implement strategies and programs to manage expenses, vendors, and our eBilling system (Serengeti) Provide creative thinking to help identify and develop cutting-edge strategies for increasing value and reducing outside legal spend while maintaining high standards for legal support and optimizing engagement practices with other departments and law firms Manage senior staff meeting agendas and logistics for department summits (and similar team meetings), including scheduling, materials, follow up, etc., and implement surveys and after-action reports Develop and manage department quarterly objectives, performance, metrics, benchmarking and reporting Oversee development and implementation of knowledge management (eg, on SharePoint, document management, Salesforce), department policies, and communications Implement and manage training and professional development initiatives including education on best practices Identify trends and recommend solutions to improve performance, retention and employee experience Craft strategies to raise the profile of the Legal team in the company, industry and community Responsible for other projects, plans and initiatives as determined by the General Counsel Qualifications Required Experience and Skills: Motivation, Innovation, Passion, Integrity, Teamwork, Customer-Focus. You should also bring the following: 's Degree required, preferably in business or finance, JD and/or MBA preferred 10 years of work experience in operations, with minimum of three years in legal operations, preferred Proven track record of making an impact, developing and executing on strategies and delivering superior results in both the short and long term Understanding of law firm or other similar professional services billing and pricing, and experience with alternative fee arrangements Understanding of litigation/transaction matter lifecycles Attention to detail with excellent time management and multitasking/prioritization abilities Technology-savvy, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel; expertise with eBilling software (Serengeti Tracker, preferred) Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of our organization Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong ability to communicate concisely with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management and key external stakeholders, and proven ability to engage, influence and align stakeholders Ability to create high quality presentation materials Consummate team player with excellent judgment
