Merchandise - Supervisor
Overview Responsible for the daily operation of specific merchandise locations. Responsibilities include supervising/training associates and leads, maintaining the overall appeal of the locations through stock selection and placement, and ordering, stocking and displaying product Qualifications * Develop and evaluate location associates and maintain related documentation accordingly * Assist in the development of and execute profit maximizing business plan for location, including keeping ongoing track of the financial information of location and adjusting the operational plan as necessary * Ensures protection of location assets through all means available including enforcing all policies related to loss prevention and inventory management * Assist in the development of and maintain associate relations programs to maintain morale and retention * Assist in the development of and maintain sales incentive programs designed to increase revenues and overall profits * Maintain the integrity of inventory tracking within the area, including conducting cycle counts as necessary * Assists in the development of and maintains an efficient system for product flow within the location, including an ordering plan, receiving plan, stocking plan, and with the assistance of the visual and purchasing staff, a stock rotation plan that includes maintaining a visually pleasing sales floor * Coordinate with Department Managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels for location, taking into consideration traffic patterns and budgeted labor for the location, and appropriate loss prevention measures * Maintain a flexible schedule in order to ensure appropriate management coverage for assigned location, including time to stock, cleaning, cash control, and developmental time with Line Associates * Maintain the integrity of the location cash control system including completing all required documentation and reconciling all cash accounts at the end of the day or as specified * Maintain a positive, professional relationship with all subordinates, peers, supervisors and managers, serving as an example to all park associates * Operate cash registers, computers and other office equipment * Provides information in person and via phone regarding products and services of merchandise locations within the park. * Greets guests in store and assists with purchasing decisions. * Stocks shelves, counters, tables, and display racks with merchandise. * Uses cash register to efficiently complete customer sales transactions. * Receives payment of cash, credit card, or traveler's checks and processes accurately. * Maintains overall cleanliness of assigned location. * Monitors the location to avoid and/or detect theft. * Demonstrates, creates, and sells merchandise to individuals utilizing product knowledge. * Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet the guest's needs, and emphasizes selling points of article. * Receives and retrieves boxed stock into or from te stockroom/understock areas for retail display and sales promotion. * Wraps or bags merchandise for customers. * Stamps marks or tags price on merchandise. * Follows proper storage requirements of equipment and supplies. * Completes refunds and returns. * Completes paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. * Writes up and disposes of all non-saleable (damaged) merchandise. * Trains and/or retrains associates and leads on cash registers, policies and procedures. * Supervises, trains, and diciplines a staff of 2-3 leads and 10-25 associates. * Maintains cleanliness in stockrooms. * Orderst stock from the warehouse to maintain adequate supply of merchandise in stores. * Regular attendance. * Ability to work with other people. * Good judgment. * Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions. * Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision. * Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs. * Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies. * Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee * Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures. * Other duties may be assigned. Responsibilities * Must complete provided department training program. * Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs. * Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law. * Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
