Merchandise - Team Lead
Overview Assists in the planning and excecution of a successful operating plan for designated merchandise locations, focusing on areas such as line employee development and retention, maximizing revenue potential, and operating a safe retail environment. Qualifications * Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law. * Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law. * Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs. Responsibilities * Performs refunds and discounts. * Assists line employees with cash register functions. * Monitors sales floor to avoid/deter theft of merchandise. * Identifies and implements suggestive selling techniques. * Operates cash register, computer and other office equipment as needed. * Performs other duties as needed. For example, works in other areas in the department. * Performs duties of line employee as needed. * Tracks location inventories and prepares inventory paperwork such as transfers and damages. * Prepares inventory paperwork relating to merchandise orders for assigned location. * Assists the Supervisor in maintaining proper documentation on line employees. * Provides feedback to Supervisors regarding the performance of line employees within assigned location. * Conducts sales transactions. * Resolves employee and guest concerns. * Maintains the cleanlinesss of the assigned location. Ensures the completion of general cleaning duties such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, etc. * Assembles and disassembles store fixtures. * Assists in the set up of the assigned location and the execution of visual displays. * Performs opening and closing procedures at assigned location. * Assists in the development and execution of a daily operating plan of the assigned location that executes proper employee placement and maximizes revenue potential. * Assists with the supervision, training and development of line employees within assigned location with an emphasis on proper cash handling procedures and guest service/sales techniques. * Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions. * Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision. * Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs. * Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies. * Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures. * Other duties may be assigned.
