Executive Director of Elementary School Instruction and Performance (m/f)
To provide leadership and direction for elementary schools in Harford County Public Schools. Provides direction and oversight to the Offices of Special Education and Student Services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE These items are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed. Serves as a member of the SuperintendentA cents € (TM) s Leadership Team, the General Curriculum Committee (GCC), Central Instructional Leadership Team (CILT), and School Performance and Achievement Team (SPA). Supervises and provides oversight in planning, implementing, and evaluating the Title I program. Provides leadership for development, operation, and reform of early childhood and elementary school programs. Conducts with the elementary school principal an administrative assessment of each elementary school annually. Provides a leadership role for the direction of curriculum development and instructional programming at the elementary school level. Works closely with the Office of Equity and Cultural Proficiency in ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources and delivery of instruction that is culturally proficient. Serves as the SuperintendentA cents € (TM) s designee for student discipline and Human Resources appeals. Provides leadership for professional development of administrators, aspiring leaders, and elementary school staff. Organizes and provides means for review and selection of instructional materials, supplies, and equipment. Responds to inquiries and requests by the Board of Education and other stakeholders. Collects and evaluates data from which recommendations concerning elementary schools are made to the Superintendent of Schools. Informs the Superintendent of Schools of pertinent MSDE and other requirements. Assists administrators and supervisors in resolving student, parent, staff, budgetary, instructional, and operational issues. Interacts and collaborates with support and operational service departments to address elementary school needs and concerns. Allocates staff annually to ensure appropriate levels of support within each elementary school. Participates in employing, assigning, supervising, and evaluating elementary school administrators and instructional facilitators. Provides shared oversight and supervision of the Offices of Special Education and Student Services. Performs other work-related duties as assigned. SALARY This twelve-month position includes 20 days of annual leave. Salary range based on the FY18 (1/2018) APSASHC salary schedule for executive personnel: A' | Grade L: $136,442 - $144,751 REQUIREMENTS MasterA cents € (TM) s degree from an accredited college or university in education, curriculum and instruction, supervision, or a related area. Hold a Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate with an Administrator II endorsement. Five years of successful experience as an administrator, preferably at the elementary school level. Hold and maintain a valid driverA cents € (TM) s license to carry out the essential functions of the position. Successful participation in systemic school, county, or state level initiatives, to include committees, task forces or other organized groups. Demonstrated effective leadership, decision making and problem solving skills. Exemplary administrative performance evaluations. Knowledge of and skill in instructional and administrative technology software and equipment. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
