Food & Beverage - Barista
OverviewPrepare and serve Starbucks drinks and food items to guests as well as maintain stand according to Starbucks and Kings Dominion Policies and Standards.QualificationsAbility to pass a simple math assessment. Ability to demonstrate all performance standards by completing Initial Store Training and passing the Barista Certification with a score of 90% of better.Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law. Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs. ResponsibilitiesGreet guests in a friendly, courteous manner. Daily interaction and assistance to park guests; displaying outgoing, friendly, versatile, flexible, professional levels of service to ensure guest satisfaction.Employ salesmanship techniques including product demonstration, sales goals, and suggestive selling. Assists guests in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales. Maintain cash wrap/guests service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner. Prepare a variety of beverage orders, such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Week, to Starbuck standards . Use cash register to correctly total price and tax on selected product by guest. Receive payment of cash, credit card, checks or travelers checks and make correct change. Balance and reconcile cash register when applicable. Fill customer order by taking food from servicing area and put it on a tray or in take-out containers. Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products. Perform equipment maintenance in accordance with preventive maintenance checklist. Use hot water heater or coffee maker to make and serve hot drinks. Serve food in correct portions to ensure proper food cost procedures are followed. Keep work and dining areas clean and neat, and empty trash. Squeegee floors, wipe off counters, sweep, and other general cleaning duties. Ensure all serving, kitchen, dining and condiment areas are stocked with supplies. Ensure product temperature controls are met and maintained for quality and safe insurance. Follow all Board of Health regulations. Notify Team Leader of any malfunctions, safety concerns, or needs. Take appropriate action to answer/resolve guest questions/complaints. Ensure all safety equipment is being used properly. Learn and demonstrate creating the Starbucks Experience. Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs. Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies. Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned. Ability to learn and use various pieces of food equipment such as but not limited to, cotton candy machines, mixers, ovens, ice cream machines, broilers, grills, fryers, etc Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor locations. Must to be able to work in extreme weather conditions such as extremely hot and cold temperatures, rain, snow, sleet, and going into coolers and freezers with temperatures as low -40F.Be able to lift, carry, push, or pull certain items up to 50 pounds frequently, and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally.
