Senior Human Resources Generalist (Human Resources Business Partner)
30% Delivers human resources services to the Culpeper, VA operating site to assist, guide, and direct business leaders, and align human resources solutions with business needs. Conducts regular meetings with respective business leaders. Analyzes trends and metrics, and collaborates with site leadership team to develop solutions, programs and policies. 20% Provides guidance and input on organization design, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies and conducts training needs for business units. Prepares reports and analyzes data as needed to support business unit and Company needs. Plan, organize and make presentations to diverse employee groups. 20% Executes roll out of Company HR initiatives to client groups. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues through conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. 30% Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to business leaders (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Works closely with business leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking an HR Business Partner with excellent business orientation and ability to understand business units' specific product/service value proposition and can translate their HR needs within larger context of company success and profitability. Position is located in Culpeper, VA., A Bachelor's degree preferably in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business, Industrial Relations or a related field and six (6) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and generalist experience. Advance degree preferred. PHR /SPHR Certification preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management, state and federal labor laws and regulations. Excellent working knowledge of compensation, benefits, employee relations, organizational development, and training. Strong communication and teaming/interpersonal skills; strong leadership capabilities, and ability to initiate and maintain cross-functional team relationships. Ability to act independently and quickly solve problems, make decisions with a strong customer oriented focus. Ability to conduct investigations and resolve complex employee relations issues. Solid organizational skills, including the ability to accomplish demanding timeline objectives, managing multiple assignments and be comfortable with change and continuous improvement. Exceptional interpersonal skills; friendly, tactful, good negotiator, ability to influence others. Strong enthusiasm and commitment to the HR profession. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Proficient in MS Office, including EXCEL and HRIS systems. Oracle knowledge/experience a plus.
