Recognized for its outstanding curriculum, high-quality teachers and leadership, Pearson Online & Blended Learning is committed to expanding quality education through technology, and helping students achieve both academic and personal success.Working remotely, within the Product Development Department, the Senior Director, Content Production reports to the Senior VP Product Development and is responsible for the overall production and management of the content product portfolio (including curriculum and training products) and overall management of the Content Production teams. Working closely with the Curriculum Development and Product Management, the Senior Director is responsible for content production planning and management, authoring and production protocols and processes used in the scoping, planning, and execution of multiple concurrent content curriculum development projects for OBL"A cents " cents s K12 courseware and professional development and training products. This includes online course creation and customization and the integration of curriculum content and digital learning objects and third party curriculum assets into POBL"A cents " cents s multiple digital platforms as well as the management of all digital curricular assets and the overall catalog of online course offerings across all partner schools and programs. The candidate will lead the Production Project Management Team which manages the full array of content development projects across Content Development and Production teams by planning, organizing, and aligning resources and people to ensure successful project execution. Additionally, the Senior Director is responsible for and manages the group responsible for obtaining rights and permissions for external content assets. The Senior Director will work closely with the Content Management Strategy Team in the identification and implementation of a new integrated content development and management architecture. The candidate will be charged with providing guidance and professional development to the team members and maintaining adequate staffing levels. Projects are expected to complete on-time and within budget. The following will be provided to you by the company as a full-time employee: * Laptop * Headset The following will need to be provided by you, as the employee, when working from home: * Dedicated workspace/home office * 2nd monitor * Mouse * Keyboard, The Senior Director, Content Production responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Oversee the production and management of the content product portfolio, including the content authoring, production, and management protocols and processes. * Oversee the integration of content into OBL"A cents " cents s multiple learning platforms * Direct the Production Project Management Team responsibilities for the full array of content development projects. Plan, organize, and align resources and people to ensure successful project execution. * With inputs from the Content Development and Product Management teams, scope, plan, and execute multiple concurrent projects including online course creation and customization and training and professional development programs * With inputs from the Content Development and Product Management teams, assist in the curriculum and product buy/build decisions. * Establish and maintain internal and external relationships conducive to achieving department and company objectives. * Manage vendor/3rd party provider contracts and relationships * Work with third party content providers to ensure quality integration of assets into Pearson"A cents " cents s learning platforms. * Oversee the management of course catalogs and access across platforms and partner schools and programs * Work with the VP Content Development in the reorganization and centralization of training and professional development teams under the Content Development and Content Production groups. * Serve on the Content Management Strategy Team to help evolve methods for improved content development processes and the identification and implementation of content authoring tools, learning object repositories, and content management systems. * Oversee the management of content development project teams to ensure that projects are completed to scope, quality standards, on-time, and within budget and serve as a support and subject matter expert (SME) related to the curriculum product development leads. * Ensure resource workload is allocated appropriately across projects/assignments so that products meet quality standards, timeline, and budget. * Coach and manage both internal and external teams to aggressive and hard deadlines. * Provide overall management of the Content Production team, including hiring, training/professional development, supervising, and mentoring, and maintaining adequate staffing levels. * Secure internal and external resources to accomplish department objectives. * Oversee the management of the curricular assets and resources, and the overall catalog of online course offerings in alignment with business needs and the curriculum product life cycle. * Develop and manage to the annual department budget and complete work within contract guidelines on schedule and within budget. * Minimize exposure and risk on project portfolio, including development of contingency plans. * Manage expectations by building relationships; communicating project status and open issues to management peers; preparing and distributing reports; conducting reviews and issue meetings; * Other duties as assigned.* Advanced knowledge in Google and Microsoft applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, and MS PowerPoint * Advance knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Educational Management Systems desired * Comprehensive understanding of new and emerging education technologies, * Master"A cents " cents s degree required, Doctorate preferred, in Education, Educational Technology or Leadership * Minimum of ten (10) years experience leading and mentoring individuals within a multi-project content development environment within an organizations focused on Education Technology, Curriculum Development, and Training Product Development. * Experience managing teams with 100+ members including a large workforce of Temporary and Term of Project contractors * Ability to lead 25 project managers overseeing 200+ individual content development projects per year * Advanced knowledge of content production methodologies with projects focused on education, curriculum and training development and production * Ability to work closely with Content Development department while exhibiting an advanced understanding of curriculum products, courseware, training products, curriculum assets, pedagogy/andragogy, and instructional design * Advanced understanding of SAFe/Agile methodologies and ability to collaborate with Product Management teams * Advanced knowledge of asset and content authoring and management including online publishing and production, product development and delivery, production workflow systems, content lifecycle management, and asset storage and management * Ability to recognize production workflow inefficiencies and develop and implement innovative mitigation strategies * Experience developing and managing an annual department budget in excess of $7M and completing work to scope and standards, on schedule, and within budget * Experience managing 3rd party vendors relationships and integrating their efforts with internal project team"A cents " cents s project portfolio * Experience determining buy/build curriculum decisions * Proficiency in the development, measuring, and reporting of performance metrics * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities * Ability to thrive in a dynamic atmosphere * Must be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, be adaptable, and able to juggle multiple priorities
