Merchandise - Visual Merchandiser
OverviewAssists in the planning and execution of visual merchandising techniques and strategies in various retail locations and display windows in order to enhance overall guest experience/satisfaction and maximizes revenue potentialQualificationsAbility to use computer and Adobe Illustrator software to create signage, graphics, logos and artwork is preferred but not required.Ability to use small hand tools/power tools to complete assigned tasks Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs. ResponsibilitiesPerforms other job duties as needed by the department and specified by the Merchandise full-time management team. Operates computer and other office equipment as needed. Operates cash register to conduct sales transactions as needed. Assembles/disassembles fixtures and displays. Communicates with other departments in order to source necessary materials, props, and tools. Sketches design ideas and floor plans that maximize space availability. Identifies product mixes within retail locations that would contribute to an aesthetically pleasing visual display and attract customer attention.Develops promotional ideas/sales strategies for miscellaneous products to generate revenue sales. Researches current design trends to ensure display concepts/ideas will appeal to the target audience/market. Maintains a focus on the visual merchandising objective to generate sales and sustain customer interest by promoting the Kings Dominion name/brand using a variety of graphic elements in designing product displays and display window spaces.Conceptualizes new visual merchandising ideas in various display windows and retail locations to improve aesthetic appeal while incorporating trends among culture, technology and the industry with assistance from the Merchandise full-time management team.Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs. Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies. Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.Other duties may be assigned.
