VP Public Affairs (m/f)
The employer is a leading pharmaceutical company.Lead the public affairs function to ensure that all federal and state government affairs team members are aligned to represent the interests of the brand and speak with one voice to external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:A' Partner with the Leadership Team to align on key public affairs priorities in support of business needsA' Educate federal and state government affairs team members on business priorities and practices to ensure aligned messaging and communicationA' Coordinate relationships and information flow with key generic and biosimilar as-sociations such as GPhA, etc.A' Work with VP, Federal Government Affairs and Executive Director, State & Exter-nal Affairs to formulate approach and strategy to best position the brand with politi-cal party activities at state and federal levels such as the House/Senate congres-sional organizations, state legislative organizations, governors associations, and national party organizations.A' Develop the process, prioritization, strategy, and implementation to build relation-ships with key state and federal legislators, key state and federal administration officials, and key government agencies responsible for reimbursing prod-ucts (Medicaid, Medicare, DOD, etc).A' Partner with the public affairs heads within other company divisions in developing and implementing a strategy which incorporates all divisional public affairs priorities to estab-lish a corporate issue prioritization approach, working closely with the division presi-dents.A' Ensure the industry and proprietary issues are identified and partner with US Coun-try Head, Public Affairs to ensure that the public affairs team is appropriately re-sourced, and is successful in achieving its goals and objectivesA' Work collaboratively with the US head of policy and VP, Federal Government Affairs and Executive Director, State & External Affairs to ensure aligned policies across the divi-sions in support of the company's business objectives and to enhance the reputation of the the company. Bachelor degree required. Post-graduate experience preferred (law degree or masters in government relations)A' Experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech space. Biosimilars experience a plus.A' Government experience required with preference for senate/congressional staff roles or federal/state agency leadership. Deep relationships in the Washington, DC policy community required.A' Organizational leadership and management experience, ability to motivate others to advance goals, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects/roles in rapidly evolving environment.A' Demonstrated business impact and results; preference for business, policy and government experience.A' Must have deep understanding of healthcare industry business models, legislative process and role of policy/advocacy development in support of priority issues.
