EOE AA M/F/Vet/DisabilitySAIC's National Security Customer Group (NSCG) is seeking a fully cleared, dynamic Vice President for Strategy and Business Development. Strategy includes a number of activities to increase growth including assessments of target markets, intelligence gathering on customers and competitors, and formulating detailed strategies at multiple levels (eg, NSCG, accounts and deals). Business development (BD) includes account management and strategy implementation, pipeline management and prioritization, lead generation, and all capture and marketing activities (eg, win strategy, teaming, white paper development, formal proposal writing, and trade shows) that focus on branding and developing winning profitable programs. This position will report to the NSCG GM and lead the delivery and direction of all NSCG strategy and business development activities, a $700M+ Customer Group supporting the Intelligence Community, Air Force, MDA, and Combatant Commands and Agencies. This person will lead and manage a team of BD professionals and oversee associated discretionary budgets that support strategic goals to meet BD performance targets. The successful candidate will be a results-oriented individual, with excellent industry/customer knowledge, who leverages industry best BD leadership practices, and has a demonstrated track record growing business in NSCG customers, for a similar size organization operating in the dynamic, multi-billion dollar Government Services market., Duties include, but are not limited to: Strategy Management: Leads the continued development process and BD execution of the NSCG's strategy to optimize profitable revenue growth. This strategy is informed by SAIC's enterprise strategy, capabilities and solutions as well as NSCG's priorities, accounts and deals. Engages customer leadership as required in support of key account initiatives and captures. Takes the macro view across all NSCG accounts, providing cross account coordination, collaboration, and dialog to optimize customer knowledge, efficient resource use, and maximize growth. Develops and supports the Strategic vision for the company through comprehensive knowledge of SAIC's strategic direction and the existing and emerging capabilities of the company. * Oversees and implements the strategy process across NSCG * Refines and executes the NSCG multi-year growth strategy from a BD perspective * Develops and defines growth strategies and opportunities across NSCG accounts in collaboration with the CG line leaders * Provides input into marketing strategies and long-range business plans for Operations * Facilitates prioritization among and across NSCG accounts * Displays agility and ingenuity when identifying and supporting business development improvement initiatives Business Development Leadership: Oversees and supports all NSCG Business Development and capture and sales efforts for NSCG. Collaborative hands on leader who is responsible for NSCG BD staff development, supervision and management. * Guides NSCG business development activities to ensure alignment with SAIC strategic goals and to meet NSCG growth targets * Oversees pipeline development and management to include the identification, qualification and pursuit of new strategic business opportunities * Identify/qualify new growth markets to include adjacent markets and customers * Drive capture excellence across NSCG ensuring capture plans are created, updated and focused on winning, and incorporate win themes, discriminators, value propositions, competitor intelligence, market analysis, and pricing, price to win, teaming and staffing strategies * Motivates and mentors NSCG BD team * Tracks budgets and key NSCG sales and business development metrics including contract awards, submits and pipeline size * Aware of program execution and talent management for impacts to growth activities * Oversees memberships, trade shows and events that support NSCG BD activities * Develops solid internal cross-organizational relationships and works collaboratively across the enterprise * Develops and maintains business relationships with customers and potential customers. Responsible for representing SAIC capabilities to customers and potential customers.* Demonstrated success leading, managing, and overseeing the strategy and business development activities for a $700M+ portfolio supporting the Intelligence Community, Air Force, MDA, and Combatant Commands and Agencies * Demonstrated success winning $100M+ full and open competitive opportunities in the national security market * Demonstrated success growing business in the Intelligence Community, Air Force, MDA, and Combatant Commands and Agencies * Established relationships with industry partners in relevant markets * Demonstrated ability to identify key growth areas and developing new business aligned with growth strategy * Demonstrated success developing, documenting and executing organization, account, and deal strategies * Demonstrated impeccable leadership skills, outstanding business ethics, management rigor, and excellent negotiation skills * Highly effective interpersonal, and oral and written communication and presentation skills for interfacing with NSCG leadership and BD staff, senior leadership, customers, industry partners and other stakeholders * Ability to engage, motivate and collaborate within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary environment and to operate with cross-functional resources * Experience managing budgets, and regular planning and annual planning cycles * Strong executive-level working knowledge of Federal contracting practices, including experience in all contract types (eg, FFP, T&M, CP), non IDIQ and IDIQ single or multiple award contracts * Highly motivated to win new business and grow organization DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience running diverse, geographically dispersed sales teams * Critical thinker who gathers and analyzes information from a variety of sources to solve problems * Demonstrated success in a Program Management role * Working knowledge of functional topics including contracts, finance, program management, human resources, etc. * Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions including subsequent integration activities EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required
