Managing Director, Associate General Counsel
We are looking for a highly skilled attorney to join our talented team in Reston, Virginia. Navient is a leading provider of asset management and business processing solutions for education, healthcare, and government clients at the federal, state and local levels. This position will allow you the opportunity to provide legal advice to management and document drafting, review and negotiation regarding a wide variety of the Company's corporate transactions and contractual relationships. Our office is conveniently located across the Toll Road from Reston Town Center and is equipped with a work out center, on site cafeteria, and is situated directly adjacent to the Reston metro stop opening in the future.Provide accurate and timely legal advice to each of Navient's lines of business relating to a variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, customer contracts, government contracts, vendor contracts, outsourcing agreements, non-disclosure agreements and marketing agreements - Develop thorough understanding and familiarity with Navient's business, products, corporate goals and the regulatory environment in which Navient operates - Deliver work product within business constraints in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while balancing competing client requests - Draft, negotiate, manage, administer and interpret contracts - Partner with business clients to evaluate legal risks and legal liabilities and to implement compliance with contract terms - Collaborate with colleagues in Legal Department regarding regulatory, corporate governance and corporate finance matters - Communicate and negotiate with external parties, building relationships of trust - Manage team of attorneys and staff, with focus on efficiency and on encouraging the professional development of each member of the team - Manage and collaborate with outside counsel - Domestic travel required on occasion, EOE Minority/Female/Disability/Protected Vet/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity Navient Corporation and its subsidiaries are not sponsored by or agencies of the United States of America.
