GPT Finance Director
You're a qualified finance professional with strong PQE in a pharma/biotech environment. Now you're ready to join the 'top table' at a global, biopharmaceutical FTSE10 company. Part of a dynamic, global finance group, you'll advise and support our Global Product Teams (GPTs). Interaction with the most senior business leaders will be constant. You'll be among the first to know the big news such as trial results. You'll be influencing major financial decisions, including multi-year phase 3 investments of several hundred million dollars and life cycle management opportunities to maximise asset value. And shaping strategy, building business cases, and gaining detailed exposure to our core drug development process, the role will provide an incredible learning ground and experience.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesYou'll strategically advise and support a number of a GPTs, constantly challenging project strategy, plans and investment decisions. This will include providing proactive financial analysis, risk and scenario modelling to assess the value impact of critical development options, ensuring investment decisions have a robust business case and evaluating forecasting assumptions across the whole value chain.You'll champion good cost management during the planning and execution of clinical programmes, as well as inputting all governance body papers. When products are in-licensed or part of an external collaboration, you'll be responsible for critical post-deal management support. Briefing senior finance leaders, including the Group CEO and Finance VPs, and playing an instrumental role in cross-team initiatives will also fall within your remit.Essential Requirements Qualified finance professional with strong post-qualification experience or equivalent Broad business/financial experience that demonstrates commercial awareness Good experience of project/product evaluation Extensive experience of working in a global pharmaceutical organisation that shows deep understanding of the drug development life cycle and/or commercial aspects Experience of working globally within multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams Ability to collate and analyse data, and identify key drivers of value Strong knowledge of Excel financial modelling and financial evaluation techniques Presentation skills to communicate financial recommendations in a way that is both impactful and easily understandable by financial and non-financial audiences Ability to interact and engage with senior managers Strategic thinking and influencing skills, understanding the big picture but having an eye for detail High ethical standards and personal integrity Flexibility to respond quickly to fast-changing business needs Excellent interpersonal skills to be both a leader and team player.
