Physician Asst-Adv Reg Nurse Pract (NE H CNU)
The Cardiothoracic Surgery Service Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, fellows, and RNs providing ICU and acute care services to patients and families. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and collaborative patient management throughout the continuum of inpatient and outpatient care at out sister community hospital Northwest Hospital Medical Center. This position provides a faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery., 1. Work on a dedicated cardiothoracic inter-professional team with other established APPs, critical care physicians, Cardiothoracic surgeons, Cardiac anesthesiologists, and Cardiology. 2. Perform bedside ICU and Acute Care procedures 3. Provide a full spectrum of care for Cardiothoracic patients 4. Participate in the education of nursing staff 5. Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery 6. Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program 3. Current and valid state PA license 4. Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA 5. Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment 6. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of patients undergoing Cardiothoracic Surgical procedures. 7. ACLS Certification 8. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing 9. Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skills Desirable Qualifications: 1. Experience as an APP of 3-5 years in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred 2. Experience as an APP of 1 year in Cardiothoracic ICU preferred 3.
