  • This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within 6 months of assignment of these duties.
  • A waiver of this 6 month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
  • This position is eligible for telework.
  • You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to apply with limited supervision, IT principles, concept's, and methods; AND possess experience with these four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, and individuals who work in the agency. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.OR

    B. Have a PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree, OR LL.M. if related OR

    C. Have a combination of specialized experience and education.

    You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to apply a variety of IT principles, concept's, system architecture, and performing system integration methods; interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines; AND possess experience with these four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, and individuals who work in the agency. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to apply a wide range of IT principles, concept's, and test and evaluation methods and procedures; apply project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment; AND possess experience with these four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, and individuals who work in the agency. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.

    Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade.
