  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level GS-07 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Formulating budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities; and reviewing and evaluating budget requests; and reporting on obligations and expenditures.
    OR
    Successfully completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
    OR
    Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
    OR
    Successfully completed a LL.B or J.D. that is related to the position.
    OR
    Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.

    GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level GS-09 or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in developing, analyzing, and advising on budget administration policies; formulating on budget and cost estimates to support plans, programs and activities; presenting and defending budget estimates before authorities; reviewing and evaluating budget requests; and reporting on obligations and expenditures.
    OR
    Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree.
    OR
    Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D or equivalent degree.
    OR
    Successfully completed a LL.M that is related to the position.
    OR
    Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
