  • Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band DA-04 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyze the practices and procedures related to the design, procurement, overhaul, maintenance, modification, logistics support, disposal and repair of naval aviation weapons systems, assemblies and support equipment of aircraft; Provide logistics, configuration and limited engineering support to aircraft involved in Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E); Planning, coordinating, and reviewing configuration documentation/data management or acquisition management in support of fleet requirements; Use a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment of program progress; Technical knowledge or assigned aircraft maintenance, repair processes and capabilities; Manage funding; Understand the principles, practices and procedures used in maintenance, logistics support, modification, calibration, support equipment, and repair/disposal of assigned aircraft and equipment.

    GS-12: Specialized experience is defined as applying an advanced knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP 4790.2) requirements and Aircraft Controlling Custodian responsibilities. Specialized experience must reflect experience with aircraft maintenance and management processes, providing input for fiscal and budgetary actions to support NAMP requirements, manage material and equipment, use of contracts, and planning of naval aircraft assignments. Examples of specialized experience may reflect the following: 1) Experience with performing maintenance on naval aircraft; 2) Reviewing aircraft Engineering Change Proposals and Technical Directives for applicability to RDT&E aircraft; 3) Managing and coordinating aircraft depot and modification line scheduling; 4) Resolving logistics issues with RDT&E aircraft in support of critical flight test schedules; and 5) Knowledge of Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) aircraft management web based and computer utilities.
