  • You qualify for the GS-7 grade level (starting salary $45,972) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-6 grade level performing all of the following duties: 1) preparing personnel actions by determining pay, authority code, nature of action codes, and appropriate remarks in a HR information system; 2) reconciling payroll related issues; and 3) providing information on human resources related matters.

    You qualify for the GS-8 grade level (starting salary $50,912) if you possess one year of specialized experience at the GS-7 grade level performing all of the following duties: 1) preparing personnel actions by determining pay, authority code, nature of action codes, and appropriate remarks in a HR information system; 2) counseling employees on benefit entitlements such as health insurance, life insurance, Thrift Savings Plan, etc.; 3) reconciling payroll related issues; and 4) providing information on human resources related matters.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade band in the federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met by the closing date 03/14/2018of this announcement.
