Conditions of Employment:
This appointment requires completion of a one year probationary period unless you have previously successfully completed a probationary period that meets the following: 1) in the same agency, 2) in the same line of work (determined by the employee’s actual duties and responsibilities) and 3) contains or is followed by no more than a single break in service that does not exceed 30 calendar days. Failure to successfully complete the probationary period may result in termination of employment.
This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. Candidates must possess the Selective Placement Factor to receive consideration for this position. Candidates for this position must possess three (3) or more years experience managing Windows 2008/12/16 servers and SuSe Linux Enterprise servers, including 1) the management of inter-operable file systems and users, 2) deployment of proprietary and Open Source software, and 3) the automation of tasks through scripting in both Windows and Linux environment.
In addition candidates must possess specialized experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience in server, network and storage administration and management including the installation, upgrading, patching, capacity planning and back-up and recovery operations as performed by a network administrator. Additional experience should include: directory administration, clustering, and system design.
