Healthcare Patient Safety & Quality Specialist

Key Role:

Work as a hands-on adviser for clients in leadership roles in the area of patient safety and quality assurance. Lead projects and initiatives, and act as a subject matter expert for project teams. Provide analysis, interpretation, and visualization of patient safety and quality data, causal analysis processes, and utilization of process improvement methodologies. Conduct strategic planning and operational assessments for the client.

Basic Qualifications:

-10+ years of experience working in a hospital setting

-5+ years of experience in patient safety, quality and performance improvement, including facilitating improvement initiatives using methodologies, including lean six-sigma, FMEA, and root cause analysis.

-Knowledge of data analysis and tools to display data, including control charts, Tableau software

-Knowledge of evidence based clinical care practices and national benchmarking

-Knowledge of Microsoft Word, including Excel, Access and Power Point

-Ability to lead and facilitate effective teams, including realize favorable outcomes and performance

-Ability to support multiple initiatives and balance resources and time concurrently to meet iterative requirements and changing priorities

-Public Trust

-BA or BS degree in health care related field 

Additional Qualifications:

-Clinical experience, as a registered Nurse, preferred

-Project management experience, preferred

-MA or MS degree, preferred

-Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year
