    BASIC REQUIREMENT

    To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must have one-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 obtained in the federal or private sector which demonstrates: consulting with customers to discuss general concepts, objectives and target audiences of the project, directing video productions, setting up and executing live hearing events, editing finished programs and ordering and maintaining studio equipment.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Surplus or Displaced Federal Employees: The Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP) and Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP) Programs are available to federal employees that qualify. Those eligible for these programs are granted special priority selection rights. To be considered, you must be deemed well-qualified by receiving a score of 85 or higher.     The self-assessment questions are related to the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies (KSA's). You do not have to respond to the KSA's.

    Knowledge of a wide range of multimedia technology standards, principles, concepts, methods, policies, and authorized approaches, as well as the full variety of applications, operating systems, components, protocols, and the equipment used in the organization.

    Knowledge of cost benefit analysis to analyze and study current and desired multimedia systems and recommend the most cost-effective systems, to include audio visual production equipment, copier equipment, and computer hardware and software for the agency.

    Knowledge of the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR).


    We will evaluate your relevant education and/or work experience as they relate to the competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) mentioned above.
