Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for all Payroll functions and Cash Receipts processing of the Accounting Department for Ivymount Corporation and its subsidiaries. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who pays great attention to detail, is deadline oriented, and communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. 

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process bi-monthly payroll for 300 employees and monthly payroll for consultants
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Conduct manual check reconciliation
  • Conduct quarterly 941 reconciliations for all subsidiaries
  • Process full cycle cash receipts processing
  • Serve as backup to the Accounts Receivable (A/R) Accountant
  • Serve as backup to the Accounts Payable (A/P) Accountant

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business related field with minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting
  • Two years’ accounting experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals
  • In- depth knowledge of payroll regulations and operation of payroll software
  • Experience with full cycle accounting transactions, in addition to full cycle payroll
  • Highly skilled in use of excel spreadsheets
  • Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Excellent analytical ability to gather and summarize data for report, as well as to identify solutions to various accounting problems
  • Highly proficient computer skills related to common office tasks such as email, conducting internet searches, and using MSOffice (e.g., Outlook, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a team environment or independently
  • Willingness to work the hours necessary to complete assigned work, particularly when deadlines result in additional job responsibilities
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Abila, MIP, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Great Plains, Sage)
  • Experience with payroll systems (e.g., Paychex, ADP)
