Basic Education Requirements:
I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree or higher in natural science or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus.
I have a combination of education and experience with courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or other education; or certification as a health physicist by the American Board of Health Physics, plus appropriate experience and other education that provided an understanding of sciences applicable to health physics comparable to that described above.
I do not have a degree in natural science or engineering, or an acceptable combination of education
FOR ND: 03: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/band ND-02 (GS-5-8) in the Federal service or equivalent public or private performing professional scientist radiological surveys or dosimetry investigations; or collecting data to determine levels of radiation exposure. OR 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree
FOR ND: 04: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/band ND-03 (GS-9-11) in the Federal service or equivalent public or private performing professional scientist radiation safety inspections/investigation; or reviewing operations to ensure compliance with regulations or guidance for an organization.
