Requisition Number 18-0001 Post Date 1/4/2018 Title Sr. Payroll Specialist Work Hours Standard Office Hours City Woodbridge State VA Description Summary: The Sr. Payroll Specialist provides specialized accounting services to ZeidersA cents € (TM) personnel from our corporate office in Woodbridge, VA. They will be responsible for recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Compile and review payroll data for completeness and accuracy, including but is not limited to, hours worked; leave balances; multi-state taxes; insurances; 401(k) deductions; garnishments, etc, from the electronic timekeeping system, HRIS, and other records. Responsible for multi-state and OCONUS payroll processing. Review personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, and occupations of newly hired employees, and changes in wage rates and occupations of active employees. Process employee terminations and final pay, in accordance with applicable state requirements. Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures. Preparation of necessary payroll reports, internal and external. Serve as company-wide payroll subject matter expert, stays up to date on all payroll policy/legal requirements and implements as necessary. Reconcile payroll and adjust errors and resolve complaints. Responsible for creating SOPs and ensuring that they are up-to-date. Other duties as assigned. Education/Experience Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting or similar field coupled with 2+ years related payroll experience; OR a High School diploma coupled with 6+ years related payroll experience. Experience providing customer service to all levels of the organization surrounding the payroll function. Experience working in a payroll function for a multi-state organization. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Desired Qualifications: Experience with Deltek, Costpoint, and Deltek Time & Expense. Experience with UltiPro Payroll systems. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Supervisory responsibilities. Physical Demands: Works in office areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Uses personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers and other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
