This position will support the day to day generally accounting needs including accounts payable, day to day transactions, monthly close and related analytics. Back-up to Payroll Manager with ability to perform full cycle biweekly payroll processing. Identify business process improvements. Assist with implementation of new back office system by incorporating best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Job Responsibilities: A cents € cents Effectively record and analyze transactions related to accounts payable for vendors, employee business reimbursements and employee travel reimbursements Receives and reviews invoices from vendors, performs 2-way match, codes G/L account, assembles voucher packages for approval by appropriate managers and vendor disbursements Follows up on invoices and approvals until completion Compile and analyze various accounting data relating to accounts payable Support internal, external and government auditors and ensure compliance with Strong Internal Controls, GAAP, CAS and FAR regulations as they pertain to vendor invoices and customer billings Prepare monthly Purchase Order Accruals Resolve vendor disputes and past due balances in conjunction with Purchasing and Contracts Responsible for monthly closing and reconciliation of Accounts Payable Responsible for reconciliation of Travel Advances with Travel reimbursements Evaluate and recommend process improvement for A/P processing As Payroll back-up, capability to administer timekeeping and labor distribution including posting of payroll entries to the general ledger, payment of wages, withholding and payment of garnishments, compilation of payroll information, maintenance of records and compliance with Federal, State and Local laws Other duties as assigned Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Minimum professional and educational background desired (include years of experience) Ability to obtain and maintain and US Government Security Clearance BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in Accounting or Business preferred but not required Minimum 4-6 years of accounts payable experience Minimum of 1-3 years hands-on payroll processing experience Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles, company and federal regulations Knowledge of CAS and FAR government accounting preferred Technical requirements Ability to learn and apply government contractor accounting requirements Familiarity with Accounting Principles, FASB and Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, under frequently changing priorities Knowledge of Excel and Word with ability to analyze date effectively Ability to learn and apply Riverside accounting policies and procedures Strong Organizational Skills to manage multiple tasks Strong Oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with multiple levels of management Excellent Analytical Skills All positions at Riverside Research are subject to background investigations.
