Advertising Sales Manager
Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, the nation's premier newsmagazine about diversity, inclusion, and access in higher education, is looking for an Advertising Accounts Manager to join the advertising sales team. The Advertising Sales Representative is responsible for generating print and online recruitment/image advertising revenue for Diverse magazine, e-Newsletters, web site, and mobile digital platforms. This performance-based position requires consultative selling techniques plus outstanding customer services skills paired with the ability to think outside of the box. The Advertising Sales Representative is responsible for the overall creation and management of accounts in an assigned sales territory with the objective of growing both print and digital advertising revenue. This position will involve some travel and participation in conferences, trade shows and sales-related events. This position reports to the Director of Advertising. Position Responsibilities: A' . Identify new prospects through outbound sales calls, e-mailing, and research A' . Apply consultative upselling skills to maximize advertising revenue for each issue and digital pitch A' . Successfully sell recruitment and branding-oriented print and digital contracts to clients A' . Increase sales of enhancement packages using assumed sales technique A' . Provide superior customer service via telephone and e-mail correspondence A' . Build revenue and maintain relationships with new and existing customers A' . Respond to customer needs and requests with a high level of professionalism, enthusiasm and knowledge A' . Fully knowledgeable and conversant on all aspects of recruitment advertising in Diverse for print ads and for online job boards, including ad placement, ad sizes, Employer Profiles, and all other recruitment advertising services A' . Fully knowledgeable and conversant on all aspects of image advertising in all Diverse print and digital platforms A' . Work collaboratively with the advertising coordinator and other members of the sales team A' . Lead generation and CRM management using Salesforce A' . Maintain high standard of accuracy in all activities and meet required deadlines for advertising assets. Requirements: A' . Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and Power Point) is required A' . Outstanding customer service skills A' . Professional and engaging phone manner; articulate, polite and friendly A' . Proven ability to build relationships with customers by providing consultation A' . Ability to write proposals and contracts, as well as superior writing skills in e-mail correspondence Preferred: A' . Recruitment and image advertising sales experience with print/digital magazines, e-Newsletters, and/or newspapers A' . Proficiency with Sales Force Salary is Base, plus earned commissions.
