Christiana Care Health System is searching for a part-time experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Aid Unit located in Smyrna, Delaware. The Medical Aid Units are open 8am-8pm every day and 9am-5pm on holidays. The office is supported by a staff of Nurses, Medical Assistants and front office staff. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Examines and treats walk in patients as well as employees who are injured on the job.Orders routine laboratory tests, x-ray studies and other diagnostic services as part of physicals and injury care and interprets the results of these studies.Examines and treats all patients within established guidelines and scope of practice. For the Medical Aid Unit in particular, this includes seeing pediatric patients as well as adults.Provides initial wound care including suturing of uncomplicated wounds, and application of splinting materials for sprains and fractures as indicated.Maintains appropriate records on all patients and employees seen at this location.Refers employees requiring assistance with drug, alcohol, or personal problems to appropriate resources for follow up.Conducts training/educational programs regarding health related issues.Provides emergency response to patients in distress in diagnostic imaging and cardiac rehabilitation offices in this facility.Performs other duties assigned by the MAU Physician Lead or Associate Medical Director as appropriate. Experience and Requirements Licensure or license eligible for Delaware Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse as set forth by the Delaware Board of NursingLicense or license eligible as a Physician Assistant in the state of DelawareGraduate of an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program and have NCCPA CertificationCertified in BLS, ACLS & PALS are required upon start dateExperience in an MAU, Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting as APRN/PA preferred Christiana Care Health System is one of the largest, privately owned, not-for-profit academic affiliated health care systems in the United States which combines the best of both community and academic hospital systems ranking 22nd in the nation for hospital admissions.
