Sterling Arsenal has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Gunsmith to augment the company's talented professional cadre of production and custom shop gunsmiths, armorers, and Cerakote applicators as we continue our successful growth and evolution. POSITION DESCRIPTION The primary focus areas for this gunsmith position include design, build-out, modification, and repair across the following firearms platforms: A' . Bolt Actions A' . AKM, PSL, Dragonov SVD A' . HK / PTR / CTME, FAL A' . STEN, Uzi, M3 Grease Gun, Cobray MGs A' . WWI A cents € " WWII MGs, bolt actions, and semi-autos In addition, this gunsmith position is regularly tasked to support Production - Custom Shop armorers and Cerakote applicators with fabrication, machining, welding, and troubleshooting solutions for: A' . 1911 and DA/SA, DA-Only, Striker Fired modern duty and practical self-defense pistols A' . AKM, PSL, Dragonov SVD A' . AR-15/M-16, SR-25 / AR-10 A' . Modern Revolvers A' . Repair and restoration of classic, curio, and antique (20th century) firearms, including exposed hammer actions, revolvers, lever actions, semi-auto pistols; no black powder. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS A' . Execution of machining operations from design diagrams, ie print reading A' . Knowledge of accurization requirements and techniques for precision rifles and optics A' . Manual lathe machining to include turning, contouring, crowning / facing, internal / external threading, chambering / reaming, action blue-printing, back boring, custom fixture turning A' . Manual mill machining to include pistol slide serrations, sight dove tails cuts, optic slot cuts, stock inletting, barrel block boring and pinning, trunion and receiver block boring and pinning, custom fixture milling, manual tapping / threading, rotary indexing A' . Fusing and welding to include TIG, silver soldering, and braising A' . Stock modification to include inletting for DBM, trigger, and extended bolt handle assemblies, bedding barreled actions, buttstock LOP and recoil pads, accessory installation A' . Familiarity and knowledge of various forms of metal plating processes, heat treatments, coatings, and finishes and corresponding impacts to fitment and tolerances REQUIRED PROJECT and TASKING CAPABILTIES: A' . High attention to detail and quality that customers expect from our custom shop work A' . Independently and efficiently manages time and tasking across multiple assigned projects A' . Proactively identifies and clearly communicates project requirements or shortfalls A' . Ability to work collaboratively and collegially across projects with Production A cents € " Custom Shop and Customer Service personnel EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS A' . Required minimum 4 years experience performing work within Required Technical Skills set or Graduate of accredited gunsmith school A' .
