MTEQ, an engineering and manufacturing services government contractor, seeks a highly motivated UX/UI Developer to provide support in our Lorton, Virginia office. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: MTEQ is seeking a highly motivated front-end UX/UI developer to design and develop a prototype GUI emulator for military application testing. A successful candidate will be responsible for developing emulator software and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for application testing and training. Software developed will be hosted on an OPENGL platform. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with clients and be attentive to customer satisfaction and will be required to work closely with hardware and systems engineers in a small-team environment. REQUIREMENTS: Three-Five (3-5) yearsA cents € (TM) experience in UX/UI and GUI emulator development projects for customers At least 3 yearsA cents € (TM) experience working within an OPENGL engine environment At least 3 yearsA cents € (TM) experience with C++ Work with product leads in building custom dashboards and visualizations Map workflows, user paths, create storyboards, mockups, low and high fidelity prototypes and write UI specifications to support development across multiple applications and platforms Generate, conceptualize, brainstorm and execute ideas that bring brand attributes and products to life Support Product leadership in creating proofs of concepts Devise creative solutions to challenging UX problems Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills Create, refine and adhere to formal software development processes Develop software documentation, including user manuals and release notes Excellent written and verbal communications skills Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance, therefore, US Citizenship is required DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: BS or MS degree Software/Graphics Design, Computer Science, or applicable UX/UI design or computer science field Strong conceptual designer, highly skilled at gathering data from various sources and developing comprehensive, visually engaging designs On the job experience creating web user interface prototypes Working knowledge and experience with UNREAL engine Experience working with textured mapping overlay Experience creating/managing art assets in both 2D (Hi-res and pixel art) and 3D (texturing backgrounds and props) Worked closely with Content Manager and Producers to develop and produce game assets such as painted backgrounds, items for avatars, props, game buttons, and UI art assets. Specialized experience with simulation and real-time strategy Experience/expertise designing and developing GUIs Experience in multiple levels of Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) Experience in the PC environment Strong planning and organization skills with exceptional attention to detail Strong presentation, interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills Experience with conducting usability tests and user shadowing SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to obtain Security clearance preferred.
