Specialist, Communications Design
Statement of Purpose: Works closely with the Communications Design Manager and other members of the communications department in the development and execution of collateral and advertising material. Responsibility for Work of Others: Coordinate with stakeholders (which can include Communications staff, other NIB staff, NIB Associated Agency staff and vendors) to ensure that projects are executed as intended, and that projects are completed on time and within budget. This position will not supervise or be directly responsible for work of others, except as part of a project work group. This position will be responsible for multiple on-going projects and deliverables.Qualifications Education BachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in marketing communications, business communications, graphics design or related field from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience in marketing communications, graphics design and project planning support functions. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also acceptable. Training and Specialized Knowledge Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Bridge. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Must be detail oriented and organized to handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Overall Duties Oversees and tracks production of graphic communications projects, monitors project deadlines, workflow and expenses. Communicates with internal and external stakeholders as required. Executes graphic communications projects as assigned. Communicates progress and requests approvals from stakeholders as required, maintains graphic communication project files, both hard and electronic. Designs marketing materials as assigned. Proofreads collateral materials and catalogs including, the AbilityOne Catalog for accuracy and content. Advertising Media Campaign Development & Management Assists in developing the annual advertising and media strategy. Meets with advertising representatives with key media and trade outlets to gather updated publication offerings. Brand Management Participates in brand strategy sessions and assists the Communication Design Manager in managing NIBA cents € (TM) s brand. Maintains and updates NIBA cents € (TM) s office dA$ (C) cor to reflect current brand, look and feel. Updates hallway monitors templates to show relevant information and keeping with NIBA cents € (TM) s corporate brand messaging. Publications Collects content and designs NIB This Week, distributes for department approval and sends to various mailing lists weekly. Acts as lead creative manager for Opportunity Magazine (collects all photography, coordinates creative edits and production with designer, updates and maintains distribution lists and coordinates printing and mailing with vendor). Participates in proofing, managing layout and edits for annual reports. Manages the print production and mailing. Maintains relationships with printing vendors (attends meetings, reviews and collects samples and sends all materials to be printed). Product Marketing Support Produces and manages the creative production of quarterly sell sheets using Adobe InDesign. Documents and monitors process flow for continuous improvements. Manages print production, distribution and fulfillment of the AbilityOne Catalog. Trade Shows/Events Manages the production of creative materials in support of all trade shows. Designs and updates materials as needed using Adobe software. Manages creative deliverables for NIB conferences (creates and maintains production calendar, manages the design of all creative materials, sources, coordinates printing and distribution of all creative materials) Photography Acts as lead photographer for office events. Makes edits to photography using Adobe Photoshop when needed. Sources, schedules and manages photographers for events and conferences. Maintains relationships with photographers. Manages employee photo library. Documents and monitors photo collection and catalog process for continuous improvement. Campaign Support Acts as manager for multiple campaigns (creates and maintains production calendar, manages the design of all creative materials, sources, coordinates printing and distribution of all creative materials). Video Production Assists with video production along-side Communication Specialist (creative contact with video production company, provides creative feedback and direction) Planning, Budgeting and Analysis Tracks Graphic Communications and other project expenditures against budget. Researches and obtains vendor bids, consultant costs, and other expenditures. Drafts internal status reports, maintains project files and tracks project expenses against estimated costs.
