ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement, with the Advisory BoardA cents € (TM) s leadership and approval of the VP of Programs and CEO, the goals of the Wellness InstituteA cents € (TM) s project and epilepsy self-management related activities of the Foundation. Serve as key staff liaison to the Wellness Institute advisory board, coordinating regular calls and updates. Serve as staff liaison to Managing Epilepsy Well (MEW) Network to insure evidence-based programs implementation with the FoundationA cents € (TM) s local offices Recruit behavioral health professionals to receive training in MEW Network programs to be implemented through local offices Lead establishing emotional and mental health services network and wellness programs with all FoundationA cents € (TM) s local offices. Collaborate with other organizations concerned with epilepsy management, wellness and behavioral health on the FoundationA cents € (TM) s activities and initiatives based on industry trends, developments and best practices. Develop and maintain up to date, accurate public information on wellness and self-management education, and ensure the content is available in health literate formats for families, individuals, and affiliates/chapters. This includes all media platforms of the Foundation, including articles for newsletters materials and resources for website, social media, pamphlets, and on-line information. Develop public awareness campaigns with the communications team related to emotional and mental health, and wellness targeted issues. Support & promote healthcare professional education on emotional and behavioral health, and wellness/self-management, in coordination with the FoundationA cents € (TM) s professional education activities both in the home office and in the field. As needed support for those bereaved with the FoundationA cents € (TM) s information & referral staff, the bereavement support coordinator. Evaluate and modify as needed the supports provided. Support the FoundationA cents € (TM) s skills building institute conference coordination, development and implementation with outside collaborating organizations. Develop the Wellness Institute with senior management, advisors, and collaborating organizations. Seek and apply for funding opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of the Wellness Institute, and the emotional and mental health programs. Work collaboratively with Health Resources and Information team. Oversee budgets, expense and staff supporting the Wellness Institute and other projects as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES: The Director of the Wellness Institute has supervisory and team leadership responsibility. The Wellness Institute Director supervises the behavioral and emotional health manager, communication manager, studio e manager and program manager. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BachelorsA cents € (TM) degree required, and advanced degree in a health/medical, public health, social work/social services, or communications or equivalent area strongly preferred. Experience may be substituted for advanced degree. A' . At least five years of experience in project oversight, management and implementation, health education and promotion, writing and oral communication, and advocacy. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC: Knowledge of-- Mental health, social work and wellness industry or other relevant fields Public health education protocols, including an understanding of evidence-based and promising practices Public and professional awareness and education practices and principles Medical, scientific, health behavioral, mental and emotional health topics Legislative and regulatory principles for systems advocacy/change Social service networks, case management, wrap around services and supports Experience with bereavement helpful but not required Ability to-- Work collaboratively with others in a team environment, leading and ensuring implementation of project goals. To carry forward the FoundationA cents € (TM) s message in an articulate and persuasive manner. Write clearly and well for lay and professional audiences. Organize and manage multiple complex activities Work well with diverse audiences, including those who have experienced emotional and mental health needs due to epilepsy. Provide online and telehealth activities/services that focus on mental and emotional health Use the internet and computer and database systems to research educational topics Present on wellness and behavioral health topics in epilepsy to national audiences Write for publication in peer-reviewed journals
