Summary

PenFed is hiring a Mortgage Transaction Assistant in Alexandria, Virginia. The primary purpose of this job is to input mortgage application data from the Mortgage Application system to the Loan Origination system.

 

Essential Functions

  • Perform data input to build loan in loan origination system based on data input by Member in Mortgage Application system.
  • Monitor and assign loans from queue.
  • Ingest original disclosures provided by loan application system into document imaging system.
  • Request action from Disclosure Desk if Member indicates they want to lock their rate.
  • Request action from Disclosure Desk as valid change in circumstances is identified.
  • Conduct any required compliance checks (internal and external).
  • Direct applications to appropriate staff for follow-up.
  • Order services from third party vendors.
  • Assist teams with obtaining necessary documents to move loans into closing stage.
  • Nased on the business needs (these duties may fall under the scope of other job functions within 1st and 2nd mortgages) may perform other duties.
 

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Associate’s Degree in a related field is preferred. Minimum of two (2) years’ of experience in mortgage lending or strong customer service is required.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.

 

Licenses and Certifications

There are no additional licenses and/or certifications required.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*

 

Travel

Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is not required.
