IT Manager, Real Time Systems
Description PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Plan and manage resources, finances, scope and services within Information Technology in support of Commercial Asset Operations to deliver business results. Provide IT products, services and solutions on time, within budget and with the required functionality. Establish, maintain and enhance relationships with clients. Participate in developing and implementing technology roadmaps and strategy/policy that align with business strategic goals. Manage projects of medium to high complexity, size and change management risk. Oversee compliance of IT and Project controls to mitigate or prevent risk exposure PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Lead and manage IT staff and resources in accordance with the IT Business Plan. Align people, processes, and technology to provide consistent, quality IT support and services that drive business results. Ensure teams abide by all IT and audit controls. Maintain, monitor, and appropriately enhance system/platform performance. Operate utilizing standard processes as defined within the Management Model. Oversee process improvement efforts and adoption of standards to deliver sustainable top quartile cost and performance levels Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with business, IT partners, and vendors. Manage IT portfolio by aligning resources to business and IT prioritized demand. Provide consistent transparency to key stakeholders of IT's service delivery, cost drivers and opportunities to drive business value. Evaluate performance and provide coaching for IT personnel. Participate in career development and succession planning processes. Promote diversity and foster teamwork, collaboration, and a learning organization. Provide input on development and retention processes for IT employees. Focus to develop high performance teaming through people, process, and technology. Lead and manage IT projects and associated system integrators to deliver projects of medium to high complexity. Plan and manage scope, schedule, and budget for defined deliverables in accordance with IT project management standards. Maintain current business knowledge/acumen, including application of technology solutions to deliver business results. Prepare, manage, and monitor budgets within monthly and annual targets. This includes accurately forecasting labor and non-labor expenses to meet future staffing, support, and project demands. POSITION SCOPE: * Total Staff Managed: 10 to 20 (direct, indirect, including employees and contractors) * Budget Managed: $2-3MM * Position leads Real Time systems application development and support team in support of Commercial Asset Operations and reports to Director of IT, Wholesale Platform * Utilize understanding of customer's business needs to determine requirement and help set direction * Determine and helps others learn appropriate theories, practices and principles that relate to their skill set portfolio and related sciences and disciplines. * Make judicious decisions in familiar and new situations and contributes to strategic decisions. * Represent business client's perspective with IT team * Dimensions: Span of control (generally 10), level of budget control, technical/business complexity, risk, criticality of assignment to business * Budget Management specific to area of accountability. * Operate independently with little or no supervision Qualifications POSITION SPECIFICATIONS MINIMUM: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline and 8 - 10 years' experience in area of technical specialty; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. * Experience leading and managing IT projects or sub-teams and knowledge of IT project management methodologies- Agile, Waterfall. * Experience leading and managing technical personnel. * Strong judgment and excellent analytical skills that are solution oriented. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across all levels of IT, business, and management in a matrix organization. * Ability to navigate through complex problem solving within a matrix organization. * Ability to influence others and drive change in the organization towards strategic goals * Experience in managing and reporting budgets, accruals, and resource forecasting across functional area of responsibility. * Proven track record of building effective stakeholder relationships.
