The Department of Social Services, in partnership with the Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), and Prince George's County Government is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Community Developer IV position, grade G-27, to serve as Prince George's County's Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative (TNI) Schools' Program Director.
This is a senior level management and administrative professional position, whereby the incumbent ensures that the TNI Schools' Project's goals and objectives are met through implementation across local service systems, including the Prince George's County Public School System, Prince George's County Government, selected non-profits, and community partners.
The incumbent in this position provides leadership in areas of community liaison, development, advocacy, and social innovation services for impacted communities and sub-populations. The incumbent reports to an Associate Director, and is evaluated based on the manner in which assignments are managed and resolved.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Incumbent plans, directs, oversees/manages activities associated with the TNI Schools' Project; identifies and resolves issues related to program requirements; coordinates and prepares a variety of reports, data, and program materials; confers with Local, State, and Federal Government officials concerning proposed and existing County/State programs; develops budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure guidelines are within prescribed funding levels;coordinates and prepares proposals for State and Federal programs; assists with preparing contracts and agreements for community organizations that provide services for the department; leads staff/subordinates responsible for coordinating community development programs/activities; and performs other tasks and duties assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business/Public Administration, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or other closely related fields; plus three (3) years of responsible professional experience managing community outreach programs/activities; developing, overseeing, and managing contracts/budgets; collecting data and preparing reports, and leading staff/subordinates. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered. EACH APPLICANT MUST INCLUDE INFORMATION THAT CLEARLY DEMONSTRATES THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.
DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligibles, which becomes effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
