Overview Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer for our Clarksburg, Maryland office who is experienced in C++, Python and Embedded Linux. Responsibilities Key contributor in new modem development product for interesting application used real-time to communicate with fast moving aircraft which might include modem management design and development, mod/de-mod card interface and configuration and: Capable of performing engineering design and support tasks of moderate complexity without supervision. Complex designs require technical assistance. Possesses strong knowledge of practical and theoretical design. Provides technical assistance in developing proposals and bids. Provides guidance and support to junior level engineers. Qualifications Minimum BSCS, BSCE or BSEE. Minimum 4 years of Embedded Linux in C++ and Python. Proven Object Oriented Design and Implementation. Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communications. US Citizenship. Preferred Skills: VM, Java, Hadoop, Storm, ActiveMQ, MongoDB, VPC, AWS, NoSQL, Hive, Node.js., Data Warehouse (SSIS/SSAS). C# and .Net Enterprise developmentStrong SQL, XML, Message Broker background. Familiar with Agile practices and methodology (XP and/or SCRUM). Experience with radio/wireless software.
