MTEQ, an engineering and manufacturing services government contractor, seeks a highly motivated Director of Government Services to provide support in our Lorton, Virginia office. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Reporting to the President, the Director of Government Services at MTEQ will play the key leadership role in managing this business line, which is comprised of DoD and Intelligence Community customers in the C4ISR technology area. We seek a federal sector executive with deep expertise in leading and growing Defense and Intelligence business in a performance driven environment. This executive must be comfortable evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the team and act decisively to foster an environment where superior quality of work and predictable revenue growth can be achieved. Our leader will possess "seller/doer" leadership skills, but can balance that with the broad vision necessary to lead and grow the business. We seek a business unit leader able to translate DoD requirements, operations and programs into new engagements and relationships. A key member of the senior leadership team, the Director should be highly collaborative and be able to provide guidance and contribute to discussions and plans related to the entire federal business. Specific responsibilities to include: Assume full P&L management of all Sector operations, including account management, project management and project delivery. Provide insights, recommendations and support for the overall strategy for the DoD / Intel Group, including how to represent MTEQ's capabilities to the market. Provide input on and participate in the execution of the business development plan including identifying target clients, leveraging and partnering with the existing customer base and capitalizing on thought leadership development and market visibility opportunities. Develop and lead a first-rate team that is known for meeting and exceeding objectives and is proactive in developing opportunities within the federal sector. Oversee and manage a team of program and project managers who deliver excellent services and solutions to our DoD and IC customers with a focus on high value and high impact. Education: BS degree required; graduate degree is highly preferred. The role of Director requires an individual with a broad base of experience managing organizations and projects focused on the federal government sector with a particular emphasis on the Department of Defense and Intelligence Sector customers. This individual must be a senior executive with the ability to establish strong relationships with key members of the federal community, with a focus on Army programs. Experience managing a business in a matrixed environment will be helpful. The successful candidate will have the following demonstrated experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to include: At least 15 years progressively responsible leadership experience in a professional services and technology solutions P&L management with in the Federal sector. In depth knowledge and experience with Army and Navy programs is preferred. In depth knowledge of the DoD C4ISR marketplace. This individual should have an understanding of DoD/Intelligence agency missions, organizations, operations and performance. Superior people management skills including direct experience with the processes and disciplines associated with running a DoD focused services firm. Experience building and leading a high performance account management function that is proactive, realistic and that can drive the creation of high quality business opportunities. Worked in a highly collaborative business development environment where he/she worked closely with the business development team on pursuit strategies and account prioritization. Experience development teaming relationships within the C4ISR community to capture high value must-win programs. Experience with successful management of DoD and IC programs in a cost reimbursable contract environment with superior customer satisfaction and CPARS ratings. Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to interact effectively with employees and all levels of management in identifying and resolving complex issues. The candidate should possess existing relationships with government leaders that can lead to business development opportunities. SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret Clearance Required. TS/SCI desired.
