This job advertisement will be used to fill multiple positions. Manages, maintains, and monitors Windows Server environments, related middleware and tools, and integration with storage systems and end-user devices county-wide. Serves as members of the server team and coordinates efforts with other technical divisions in the installation and maintenance of the county's enterprise Windows environment, systems and integration of O365 and other cloud infrastructure environments, desktops, laptops, smart phones and mobile devices. Works closely with IT etwork analysts in performing hardware and software upgrades to network components as required to maintain compatibility between server and network environments. Assist team leader in countywide project planning, technology assessments, training, and implementation of current and future windows systems. Participates on DIT and agencies' projects in implementing and supporting access to Windows-based applications, ensure maximum network utilization and availability of multiple servers supporting county agencies and thousands of end-users and the public enterprise website. Support multiple agencies with windows system integration; develops documentation for server architecture, system administration documentation, and IT operations. Plans and manages systems for HA and DR components related to windows systems. Participates in and assist IT technicians in troubleshooting and repairs SW and HW server technologies. Provides 24 x 7 support and responds as necessary in event of county-wide emergency events. Performs other duties as assigned.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to possession of an associate's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field; plus four years' network and/or telecommunications experience; or a bachelor's degree in such fields; plus two years' experience in network or telecommunications system design, analysis, installation, and troubleshooting.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Extensive knowledge and experience in providing Windows server, virtualization and/or 'cloud' infrastructure support in an enterprise-wide environment of multiple servers. Knowledge of configuration and integration with Active Directory, Office 365, or Linux/Unix. Excellent interpersonal skills and team-based management experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work is generally sedentary, performed in a normal office environment.
