Senior Services Deployment Engineer

As a member of the Service Implementation Team, this position is primarily responsible for deploying service designs and associated service infrastructure along with system integration. This position will focus on implementing, maintaining, and optimizing satellite broadband platforms, video services platforms, Internet Protocol (IP) and Network infrastructure as well as technologies that are required to support Intelsat Managed Services. This individual will be part of a team that coordinates and supports upgrades, enhancement, and expansion as well as provide last-level (level 3) technical support. You will work collaboratively with team members to build and deploy innovative solutions by translating requirements into tested system specifications. In addition, this position ensures that the scope of work defined within the Statement of Work (SOW) is accurate, that the timeline is adhered to, the budget is not extended, and that all project phases are properly documented for training and customer support. Working closely with Service Design Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of deployment and integration best practices in order to increase team efficiency.

•Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing satellite broadband platforms, video services platforms, Network and Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure as well as technologies that are required to support Intelsat Managed Services.
•Service implementation responsibilities include utilizing new technologies, features, and equipment designs.
•Responsible for implementation of satellite broadband platform and associated automation capabilities, fault, and performance monitoring systems.
•Scope of responsibilities to include platform and network infrastructure upgrades and deployments within Satellite Teleport or Point-of-Presence (PoP) facilities.
•Responsible for adherence to structured deployment methodologies and end-to-end testing principals.
•Collaborate with Design Engineering and Architecture teams to ensure streamlined integration and implementation of end-to-end service designs.
•Proactive support in the identification of system dependencies and project scope changes.
•Usage of analytical skills to resolve issues related to source data and/or systems.
•Ensure best practices and procedures are incorporated from a multiple department perspective, within your defined role and responsibility.
•Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, and other applicable departments to ensure the profitability of all projects.
•Develop effective operating standards and processes, to increase team effectiveness and process alignment.
•Fulfill lead or contributor role to development of technical training materials associated with the roles and responsibilities of positon.
•Represent the department at all times, as a primary technical SME.
•Participate in meetings and activities to support Network Engineering.
•Participate in regular one-week long on-call rotation to support the network
•Document and comply with recordkeeping procedure.
Required Skills And Knowledge
•Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline. At least three years of network experience, with five years preferred.
•Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other networking certification preferred
•Must have subject matter expertise in one of the following engineering disciplines: Network, IP, Optical, or Media.
•Direct hands-on experience deploying and supporting IP-Based Satellite Platforms, Hubs and Network preferred.
•Comprehensive knowledge in networking, broadcast video distribution, or systems engineering, (IP, Video, Network).
•Must have excellent organizational and database skills, with the ability to coordinate between multiple systems.
•Ability to analyze situations and utilize problem solving abilities under pressure.
•Excellent verbal, written, analytical and communication skills.
•Strong ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers is required.
•Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
