The Perioperative Assistant helps the perioperative team in many aspects of patient care. Thisincludes but not limited to patient care assistance, maintenance of a clean environment, transportation of patients, supplies/equipment, specimens and blood products to, from, and within the surgical unit.
He/She demonstrates actions and attitude that contributes to the critical success factors of the
organization (i.e. Best place to work, most extraordinary experience, superior outcomes, financial
success for reinvestment, valued as a faith-based organization, and a growing organization vital to the community).
High School diploma or GED required
Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home preferred
Strong customer service skills
Requires judgment that could affect patient outcomes
Ability to prioritize
Basic CPR certification
