Job Title: COMMUNITY SUPPORTS & COORDINATION SERVICES BUREAU CHIEF Closing Date/Time: Continuous Salary: $88,025.60 - $145,184.00 Annually
Job Type: Full-Time Location: 2100 Washington Blvd., Arlington, VA (Sequoia Plaza) *ART Bus Accessible*, Virginia       The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and experienced leader to serve as Bureau Chief of the newly created Community Supports and Coordination Services Bureau. ADSD is part of an integrated social and wellness model, connecting clients to wrap around supportive services including: adult protective services, adult social services, home-based nursing case management, in-home services, Medicare counseling, senior adult mental health, and volunteer guardianship.

This Bureau Chief provides strategic leadership and direction for three programs within ADSD: Adult Protective Services, Nursing Case Management, and the Arlington Adult Day Health Care Program. These programs provide comprehensive case management services that help older adults and people with disabilities stay safely in the community, maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. This leader serves a culturally and ethnically diverse population while coordinating and collaborating with leadership across ADSD and within the Department of Human Services (DHS) to achieve positive outcomes for clients, resolve issues, and ensure consistency and continuity of services.
Specific duties include:
  • Providing multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative leadership to ensure quality and comprehensive clinical interventions, service delivery and integration;
  • Developing and analyzing performance metrics to support continuous improvement of these programs to include access, quality, and service;
  • Assessing the needs of the community, identifying gaps in service, and recommending new/revised programming and funding;
  • Resolving complex administrative, clinical, and customer service issues; and
  • Managing components of ADSD's $5.1 million budget to include defining the scope for contracts and services.

 Selection Criteria: Minimum: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or other directly related clinical discipline plus significant supervisory experience in programs serving seniors and adults with disabilities in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Licensure:  LCSW or LPC from the Commonwealth of Virginia within six months of hire.

Desirable: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:
• Working with individuals from diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds; and/or
• Providing multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative leadership in Adult Protective Services, Nursing Case Management, and/or Adult Health Care Programs.
 Special Requirements: Completion of the Commonwealth of Virginia Statement of Economic Interest form will be required of the successful candidate upon hire and annually thereafter.  

A background check may be conducted on all candidates who are finalists for the position. It may include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, and credit check and may require signing a release authorizing the County to obtain this information. A State of Virginia Child Protective Services Registry check will also be required.
The position will require travel around Arlington County. Applicant must possess, or obtain by the time the appointment a valid Driver's license from the applicant's place of resident or be willing to use alternative modes of transportation.

 Additional Information: Work Hours: Flexible work schedule between the core hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some evening and weekend work may be required.

Starting salary will depend upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.  This position is in the Arlington County Government's Extended Management Accountability Program (XMAP), in which Senior Executives are eligible for a negotiated salary/benefits package and are evaluated and compensated per a performance agreement linked to the County Management Plan, and results achieved.  XMAP is a flexible total rewards/compensation system directly linked to performance and the market.
