SEG's Summer Engineering Internship Program offers students the opportunity to apply engineering skills in a dynamic and real-world environment. We are currently seeking interns for Missile and Systems Engineering Branch. Internship opening: C++, Python, Matlab coder wanted to help continue coding an existing product used for plotting data on geographic charts and maps, aerospace trajectory modeling and algorithm development, M&S in support of systems engineering work, and light analytical analysis.Required SkillsMinimum skills needed: All candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university having completed their sophomore year. Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills and must be maintaining a 3.2 grade point average or higher. Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance Ability to code well in Python, C++, MatLab (in the mapping environment a plus) Ability to work in small teams or groups Ability to work independently with help as needed Desired skills: Experienced Python, C++, MatLab coding expertise using map or spatial data representation Experienced Python, C++, MatLab coding expertise with the following toolboxes: numpy, scipy, matplotlib, basemap, shapely, pandas, and wxPython. Experience with version control systems: Git, Hg, or Subversion. Experience with ESRI mapping products Strong math skills for developing and using Python plotting functions Desired education / experience: 2 years of undergraduate computer science, math, science, engineering or related fields Or 2 years of graphic arts, web page design, mapping - cartography Non degree experience and skill set that meets the needs of the opportunity We are an Affirmative Action / Equal Employment Opportunity Employer (M/F/D/V).
