  • Applicants must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to the next lower grade/pay band (FG/GS-12/FV-H) in the Federal Government. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as:

    • Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis on a wide variety of special projects and ad hoc requests on diverse aviation, transportation and/or spectrum related subjects, often crossing multiple programs, agencies and functional areas; AND
    • Experience communicating technical material and policy implications to agency executives; AND
    • Experience with facilitating and leading meetings and meeting logistics; including development and coordination of briefing materials and executive summaries.

    • Ability to identify and research public policy, economics and industry issues affecting civil aviation and/or radio frequency spectrum and develop policy options for senior management.

    6) Leave Enhancement: FAA organizations may offer enhanced annual leave accrual to certain newly-appointed or reappointed employees.
