    BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
    • All candidates must meet the minimum education requirements of successful completion of a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) and be a current member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
    • Have a professional law degree (LL.B.or J.D.) and membership in a State or District of Columbia bar.
    • In addition, have experience of at least four (4) years of post-J.D. professional legal experience with at least 1 year at, or equivalent to the GS-14 level, equivalent education or a combination of the two.
    • The individual should have legal experience commensurate with the grade that demonstrates the ability to perform a substantial portfolio of complex and cutting-edge legal work without oversight.

    You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Resumes of qualified candidates must describe the experience necessary to perform the duties of the position.

    Such experience would be demonstrated by an attorney who was engaged in the general practice of law; or experience which afforded the candidate knowledge of legal theories, principles, methodologies, and practices or the application of legal skills in a field closely related to the position to be filled.

    Specific experience is defined as professional legal experience that enabled the candidate to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work relevant to a specific legal component.

    Additional Information:

    • Current federal employees must meet Time-In-Grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
    • Supervisory probationary period may be required.
    • A background Investigation is required and continued employment is contingent on completion of that process to determine suitability for federal employment.
    • EEOC will not pay relocation expenses.
    • The candidate selected may be required to apply for a government travel charge card.
    • This is a Non-Bargaining Unit position.

    In order to do the work of this office, you will need the following:

    CORE COMPETENCIES -

    1. Knowledge and understanding of employee conduct and government ethics related to such issues as conflicts of interest and financial disclosure, including, but not limited to, enforcing financial disclosure reporting requirements and overseeing ethics training;

    2. Knowledge of and experience with government ethics and standards related to conflicts of interest and financial disclosure and its reporting requirements, the Privacy Act and the Government in the Sunshine Act, the Administrative Procedure Act and Freedom of Information Act, and fiscal law and government contracts;

    3. Ability to produce persuasive, well-reasoned, thoroughly researched legal analysis, briefs and arguments to support the Agency's defensive litigation;

    4. Ability to communicate nuanced legal advice and guidance to all levels of the organization effectively and persuasively, and ability to make informative and engaging presentations on relevant issues;

    5. Knowledge and understanding of the laws enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
